  4. Anju,

I was just thinking why we use ์˜ˆ์š” instead of ์–ด์š” after ๋ˆ„๊ตฌ in lesson 23 of level 1?๐Ÿ˜…

    • Harmoni,

์˜ˆ์š” means is a verb that means “to be”, ์–ด์š” is the present tense conjugation of a verb with ending vowels that are not ใ… or ใ…—. In this case, ๋ˆ„๊ตฌ์˜ˆ์š” would mean “who is it”. ์–ด์š” would not be applicable in this case.
**this is just my understanding of it someone please correct me if it’s wrong ๐Ÿ™‚

  7. HYT ES,

    when can we use ์ด and ์ด๊ฑฐ and the same for ๊ทธ, ๊ทธ๊ฑฐ, ์ €, ์ €๊ฑฐ !??

    • linting,

์ด๊ฑฐ can be a subject. if you want to express a specific thing you can use “์ด+a noun” to be a subject.
      ์ด๊ฑฐ=์ด+a noun. the same goes for ๊ทธ, ๊ทธ๊ฑฐ ์ €, ์ €๊ฑฐ

    • AlphaGamers !,

I am a student myself aswell but if i am correctly ๊ฑฐ means “thing, item” and ์ด means “this” so if you see an item or thing wanna point to it you say ์ด๊ฑฐ(this (item/thing)). I hope i explained it well >.<

      • jihane Erraji,

I think that ๊ฒƒ mean thing or item

  8. Maria,

  11. Triple T,

Can you please give me a tip to remember stuff better

    • Jutta,

For memorizing words and short phrases, download “quizlet” on your smartphone.
That helped me a lot with memorizing because you can repeat the new words in different ways.
You need to not only recognize them when you see them but also it teaches you how to remember how to spell them.

    • Alina,

u can download the memrise app

  14. ์žฌํ‚ค,

    Hi I’m a beginner I have a question with your example ๐Ÿ˜Š I hope I’ll be clarified

    ์žก๋‹ค [jap-tta] (Verb stem = ์žก [jap]) = to catch
    Present Tense: ์žก์•„์š” [ja-ba-yo]
    Past Tense: ์žก์•˜์–ด์š” [ja-ba-sseo-yo]

    ํŒ”๋‹ค [pal-da] (Verb stem = ํŒ” [pal]) = to sell
    Present Tense: ํŒ”์•„์š” [pa-ra-yo]
    Past Tense: ํŒ”์•˜์–ด์š” [pa-ra-sseo-yo]

๋†€๋‹ค [nol-da] (Verb stem = ๋†€ [nol]) = to play, to hang out
    Present Tense: ๋†€์•„์š” [no-ra-yo]
    Past Tense: ๋†€์•˜์–ด์š” [no-ra-sseo-yo]

The rule says that if vowels end in ใ…,ใ…— add ์•„์š”. Non ใ…,ใ…— add ์–ด์š”.

์žก ends in ใ…‚ but it became ์žก์•„์š” instead of ์žก์–ด์š”
Same with ํŒ”์•„์š” and ๋†€์•„์š” and their past tense as well.

    I was confused, thanks ๐Ÿ˜Š๐Ÿ˜…

    • Andrei,

You’re not supposed to look for whether it ends in a vowel or a consonant. You’re supposed to find the vowel level or the last given vowel. So in your example, ์žก it would still be ์žก์•„์š” since the last vowel in it is ใ… it doesn’t matter if the word ends in a consonant. I’m sorry if my explanation seems complicated and correct me if I’m wrong.

    • Mariella,

Hi! I recently noticed that as well ๐Ÿ™‚ the first and second rule does not necessarily apply to the last letter of the word, but rather the last vowel. So, in the word ์žก, even though it ends ใ…‚, the last vowel is ใ…, which is why ์•„์š” is added and not ์–ด์š”.

    • Patricia Magdalena,

What we see is the last vowel, not literally the last character
In ์žก, the last vowel is ใ…, so we add ์•„์š” and it becomes ์žก์•„์š”
      Same with the others

      ํŒ”๋‹ค: Last vowel in ํŒ” is ใ…, so we add ์•„์š” –> ํŒ”์•„์š”
      ๋†€๋‹ค: Last vowel in ๋†€ is ใ…—, so we add ์•„์š” –> ๋†€์•„์š”

      I hope this helps! ๐Ÿ˜Š

    • Khaerul Rizal,

      Omg you represent me, thanks

  21. Wonwoo_Jungkook,

are any of you improving? and what are good sites or methods to use to really help me learn?

    • Oliver,

Well TTMIK is definitely your best bet. And yeah, I am improving steadily.
My daily go to routine is:

      * listen to the audio of a new lesson without looking up the text to focus on pronounciation and listening skills(in terms of writing down what I heard)

      * do the text part of that lesson seperately after

      * usually repeat the day’s lesson in my head or apply it throughout the day

      * make flashcards, either analog or online flash cards to use

      * once a day listen to the 100% Korean dialogue to practice listening skills on my level

I will definitely upgrade to the premium course to have access to the Iyagi sessions though, which I heard are really great.

      • TillyCat,

Woah this is so smart I will make my routine similar,, ๊ฐ์‚ฌํ•ฉ๋‹ˆ๋‹ค!

    • Sab Kathryn,

Hi , so for me what I do is I always repeat the words after the teachers and write it down so many times so I can memories them , and when I want to test my Korean speaking Skills I go to
Google translation and start speaking ( words or sentences ) and see if he could understand or not , ahh also always talk to ur self it’s fine xD I do that and that helped me leaning other languages
      Hope I could help youu โค๏ธ ํ™”์ดํŒ… !
