On lesson 17, the very last page of the PDF, I am sorta confused on it, can someone please break the past and present verb stems down for that page? I don’t get the (NOT *word*) or the stem you add

  When you first think about it , it’ll be 자아요 and 자았어요. But in this form they aren’t easy to pronounce so they become how I wrote it first. If you have another question you can ask !

  Hello! I’ll try to explain. So, all korean verbs end with the syllabel -다 (-da) . When you want to use a verb in a sentence you have to drop the -da and put the -아요/어요/여요 for present tense or -았어요/었어요/였어요 for past tense. If you have the verb 자다(jada)(=sleep) the present tense would be 자요 and the past tense 잤어요.
