When we convert a verb into a noun, using -는 것 or -기
Do we NEED to use a fix method (-는 것 or -기) for a specific structure, for example:
In the lessons we were introduced to -기 전에 but is it wrong if I write -는 것 전에

Do you describe your name as “루미”? So, How about 루미예요?
If noun ends with vowel , we have to use 예요 . If noun ends with consonant , 이에요 is used . Therefore, to me ,it is better to write ” 루미예요” or ” 루미이예요 ” if your name is “루미이”.

선생님. After where I talked about the drama ‘생산팀원들’, I want to add ‘the other actors actresses, especially write Jo Yong and Director Park Shin-woo. So all together I want to say;

In that case maybe something like;

In this sample sentence, “걱정하지 말라고 했어요.” Why we don’t use 말”으”라고 했어요. ? And can we also say “걱정하지 말다고 했어요.” to mean “I told them not to worry” as well? Thanks for your kind help.
1) It is just the way Korean conjugation works for -(으)라고 하다. -으라고 하다 = all verbs ending in a consonant EXCEPT ㄹ. -라고 하다 is for all verbs ending in a vowel OR ㄹ. By verbs I mean, the base (dictionary form) 하다, 말다, 듣다… It is an aspect of sound blending and I assume the Korean preference for the “L” sound.
2) Since you are sorta speaking in a separate context (3rd party)…maybe you can say “하지마라고 했어요.” -(이)라고 하다 as a direct quote (meaning you literally said 하지 마)….but maybe that is emphasizing unnecessarily that you said “하지 마 vs 하지마요 vs 하지마세요, etc) and unless that distinction is the topic of conversation, ie. you said 하지마 to a boss instead of 하지마세요, I imagine Koreans would just use -하지 말라고 to convey that you told somebody not to worry; regardless of context. Perhaps a native speaker here can correct me if I am wrong.
I’m really annoyed. I paid for the premium membership and I even received the receipt from PayPal but it says that the payment is still pending even after 24 hours, and I am still a basic member. Also, I have 2 orders in my account for the same premium membership and I can’t cancel it. Does this mean that the money will be deducted twice? 선생님 안녕하세요 ! Regarding lesson 24, «I DID do it/I DO like it» how do I change 하다 verbs into the -기는 form if the first part of 하다 verbs is already a noun ? For example, if I want to say « I DID study, but I don’t understand » do I say « 공부기는 했는데, 이해가 안 돼요. » or just « 공부는 했는데, 이헤가 안 돼요.» or neither ? 감사합니다 🙂 🙂
TLDR: 공부하기는 했는데 이해가 안 돼요.
Long Version:
This is taken from one of the example sentences on that lesson.
시간 맞춰서 도착하기는 했는데, 준비를 못 했어요.
I know they didn’t directly talk about noun하다 verbs and doubling it with another 하다, but….that’s what you do.
도착하기는 했는데 blah blah blah….so, for your question
“공부하기는 했는데 이해가 안 돼요.”
공부기 is impossible, because 공부 is not a verb and 기는 must attach to verb bases.
As for your last examples…. You could probably say 공부(는) 했는데 이해가 안돼요 and be fine. or 공부(는) 했어도 이해가 안 돼요.
Whether 는/가’s in those sentences are needed or even appropriate is really up to what is proper or not…you should be fine with 공부했어도 이해 안돼요/공부하기 했는데 이해 안돼요. While both -기는 하다 and -어도 하다 could probably be used for your question, there are probably subtle differences.
There are alot of ways to say the same thing in Korean, with subtle differences, so hopefully a native Korean can educate us on the use-case for 어도하다 vs 기는데 하다 above. I imagine it has to do with frequency of occurrence for the action, or some aspect of emphasizing something different. Somebody smarter than me, please correct if I am wrong here.

Hi,In one of the lesson,you mention that we already learnt about 서,기 때문에 and (으)니까,I remember that I learnt서，but I really dont remember which lesson this three expresssion are in,could you tell me?Thank you❤
-(으)니까 is lesson 14 in level 5.
-아/어/여서 is lesson 7 in level 3.
-기 때문에 is because~, since~ ex) 밥을 많이 먹었기 때문에 배가 불러요. I’m full because I had a heavy meal.
